Tata premium segment Hatchback - TATA Altroz This vehicle was awaited much by the automobile lovers This vehicle has lot of specialties , use when we try to understand him, you ll know how great he is, as a human being.. Several years before. in the beginning time When people talk about buying TATA cars Most of them will reject simply because, the make is from TATA But today the things have been changed. Its considered as a privilege and a prestige to have a TATA vehicle TATA has changed a lot... They made a huge difference in the market make other makers to bow before them.. We all know that last few vehicles from TATA are hit makers in the automobile market The most renowned vehicle among its series is TATA Nexox is special that i has got a 5 star rating from Global NCAP for safety Nexon is the first vehicle to get a 5 star rating and second one is  -Altroz The Global NCAP. The most liked quality for Altroz id that it has got 5* ratings for safety and about Global NCAP its elaboration is New Car Assessment Program Its a UK based charity organization measuring the vehicle quality interms of passenger safety   For each countries the standards are different. with standard of Indian roads, the test is conducted.. upcoming vehicles from TATA will be raised on this platform Its light weight that Electric vehciles can also built in this platform And Altroz is the very first vehicle raised in this platform This is about the design wise spec of Altroz Today we are review TATA Altroz, this is a five seater vehcile which is launched as a premium vehicle of TATA So, the exterior and interiors give a premium look and feel for this vehicle   This vehicle is designed and developed by the  R&D team of TATA India, Italy and UK ,Hence its a global design from TATA This is termed as a gold standard vehcile because of its premium design and of the advanced specifications This vehicle has a dual tone color, the roof is thatched with a piano black finish     Looking from the front top We can see the big wind shields Then below we can see the two rain sensor wipers   On the hood we can see the character power lines which shows the tensile strength of the front ,Since importance is given to safety, the hoot is stronger enough to absorb an impact, We can see a black inset in piano finish which gives an added beauty to the vehicle it starts from the extreme left, running till the extreme right of the hood. We can see the signature grill of TATA, a honey combed grill found in all earlier versions of TATA   We can see the might emblem of TATA in the middle of the grill which fits to the size of the vehicle Looking to either sides, We could see two head lamps, Auto projector. As said earlier, the vehicle has premium features, the auto projector head lamps lits automatically sensing darkness     The projector head lamps, are dual head lamps as a clustor There is a difference in the position of the turn indicators, placed inside the head lamp assembly.

We could see a fog lamp in the bumper along with beautiful DRL lamps. These are the Day time running lamps (DRL). We could see a big air dam with lip like spoilers beneath the bumber     These are the looks from the front, coming to the side view.The side looks of a TATA Altroz seems to be good The tyres are of 16 inch,   with laser cut alloy wheels. One of the specialty is that there is a turn indicator placed above to the wheel arc near to the front door hinges   We could see a electrically controllable rear view mirror, in which a chrome element is claded at the bottom line .

There is a door handle for the front doors as like its positioned in normal cars But coming to back the handle position is placed in the C pillar of the vehicle This can be seen in vehicles like Honda Jazz The window lines are placed in a higher position to the body to get a premium look, And coming to the back side of the vehicle... Let's now see the back side of the vehicle... Looking from the back side. As already conveyed, the room is of a black finish as the majority of the body color is Golden We could see a radio antenna for FM/radio signal reception. We could see a high mounted stop break lights above the wind screen, and a rear wind shield wiper TATA emblem is placed in tail gate just beneath that the vehicle badging in projected letters       We could see a reverse camera to assist reverse parking which gives the back side view in the front display in the dash board There is a fog lamp situated in the middle of the back bumper with two reflectors placed in sides   There are reverse sensors placed in the back bumpers   We can see how these sensors and camera works when we go to the interior specs..     One of the main thing is about the break light cluster The beak lights and turn indicators comes in a cluster The design is adopted from TATA Harrier it looks liked a smoked indicator, the lens is smoky and looks black shaded The vehicle body color is gold but the back side looks black with a floating design The back side looks are stunning with the floating wind shields (projected from the body)   The looks are so heavy that the vehicle has a great road presence... Now lets see the interiors of Altroz.. This is the key switch of the vehicle, remote keys for key less entry in addition to the remote key switch, there is a wearable key also (wrist watch) for Altroz, that the keys may not be missed or stolen           Now , lets unlock the car.The Rear view mirrors get opened when the vehicle is unlocked, One of the best feature of this vehicle is that, the doors are wide open to 90 degrees. The full open doors itself shows the interior space of the vehicle The acceptability is big with the wide open doors... the door pads are strong, while opening we could feel the weight of the doors. For any vehicle, we could analyze the strength of the vehicle by the weight of its door     Coming to the interiors... The interiors are dual toned... Its a combination of Black, White, Silver and chrome.     In the door pads we could see the door open handles   There are speakers in the door pad - The audio is provided by Harman The music system is pretty good with Harman We can see the mirror adjustment buttons and power window switches in the door pad     there is a storage space also in the door pads. The door pads are of a plastic finish there are also fabric inserts in door pad     Now lets get into the vehicle, to explore the driving seat and the dash board. On sitting in the driver seat, the seats are very comfortable the seats contains us, giving a great feel with good support   the shape of the seat gives best seating position for the driver The seats are of fabric finish, not leather seats. The heights of the seats can be adjusted, positions can be adjusted, not electrically       And coming to steering wheel... the steering wheels are beautifully aligned with a leather wrap, slightly flattened at bottom the flat bottom steering wheel looks sporty and helps a tall person to get a comfortable drive position      the steering wheels resembles that in high end cars the driving wheel has two sections, left side for audio/media adjustments/ hands free controls for attending calls       Right side section is dedicated for cruise controls, first in this segment for longer and comfortable drives the main attraction of the dash board is placing of the multi info-tainment sysytem the design is called a floating island design that ...   the full assembly is like a floating island   there is an aqua blue ambient light around the touch screen assembly  which give a feel of an island at night   The 7 inch screen is projected upwards from the dash board looks are excellent with the aqua ambient lights in the dash baord. the infotainment system has connectivity like android auto, apple car play and google supported voice commands         there is a audio BOT system which gives warnings to the driver in-case if the doors are open or the seat belts are not worn. In case if the doors are open the BOT will notify through voice prompts which doors are open Like "Left side door open" or right side door open" "Rear right door open" " rear left door open" The interior colors are mainly in black tint a combination of black, silver and dullish white color for the interiors   Here we can see the glove box,   Altroz has the largest glove box with a capacity of 15 ltrs in this segment. there are multiple trays inside the glove box to hold the articles inside it   and coming to the dash board, we could see the front facing A/c vents the controls can be manually adjusted and the indications are displayed in the touch screen         This portion is of controls for media, increase or decrease the volume of the music system A/c controls are situated beneath the media controls       There is a USB port provided in the storage space along with a 12V charging port   a small storage space is situated in the center console for holding small articles like keys, paper slips or even coins. The gear knobs are beautiful fabricated in a leather wrap. This vehciles is mated with a 5 speed manual transmission gear box There is a switch in the center console, its for switching the drive modes there are two drive modes - Eco and City we can engage the drive modes pressing the button when pressed the mode changes to Eco mode or city mode now lets see the instrument cluster, its a combination of digital and analog indications Right side its a analog speedometer       Left side of the analog meter there is a small 4 inch display which shows the vehicle parameters which are nowadays present in all vehicles and coming to ac vents its has a silver cladding below the head light settings are arranged. We can see a sun shade at the top of wind shield, with vanity mirrors for the co - passenger only a small space to hold your sun glasses in the roof a mic is provided to support hands free calling these are the reading lights which are splendor and sleek the rear view mirrors fitted in the wind shield are adjusted manually these all the information about the front portion and dash board there storage spaces in the central beam, there is a cup holder cum storage space. We can keep water bottles or soft drink cans in this cup holder   An arm rest is provided for the driver, the arm rest is adjustable - it can be slided to fit the needs of the driver Its also acts as a storage space, where we could hold some petty cash or medicines or other valuables     this is the manual hand breaks , the design is ok, a small chrome coating is also given to the tip to make a premium feel   This is how the driver cabin looks.... TATA describes the driver cabin as a flight cabin with great looks with the ambient lights   TATA claims that the night drive will be an experience with ALTROZ with the interior ambiance of the floating island infotainment dispaly, if we come closer we could see the blue ambient light, it will lit the dash board in night drives   Now lets explore the back side of this car, how it feels for the rear passengers. Now are about to enter into the back seat of this car Both the doors are open, you could see that the doors are wide open, over from this side to that side. Pot bellied people, aged people can easily enter into the car its easy to take a parcel or box into the vehicle with this large wide open doors As said earlier the seats are of fabric finish, lets enter into the vehicle. I set at the driving seat earlier, so let me sit being the driver seat,   i have a height of 5ft and 6 inches, there is much leg space in the vehicle, that i get more than 6 inches leg space   another specialty is that, the vehicle has a flat bed platform     compared to other cars, the platform is nearly flat bedded which gives more ride comfort     This vehicle is designed for 5 people, but if only 4 people travels, the arm rest provides a luxurious ride for the rear passengers   There are head pads for the rear passengers, the head pads/rests can be adjusted for your comfortable ride           The seats are very comfortable for very long rides...   unlikely in this segment, this vehicle has rear ac vents for more comfort, there is also a 12V charger provided in the ac beam for rear passengers       This vehicle is very spacious inside... Now lets see the boot space of this vehcile The tail gate can be opened manually by unlocking the vehicle using the remote key   The boot space is spacious and big, that we get 345 Ltr boot space for storage   These are the parcel trays in the boot space the rear seats are foldable that the boot space can be enlarged These are the boot space... Now lets see the power train options of this vehicle, lets open the hood to ex cover the engine room     This is the engine room for Altroz   The hood is strong and has weight, which shows the strength of the vehicle This is the engine This is a petrol engine This engine is from the same series - the famous Revotron engine its a 3 cylinder, naturally aspirated engine 1.2 liters 1199 CC is the engine power   Now there is only a petrol model in showrooms, but the diesel engine will be also available soon The diesel engine will be of 1.5 Lts 4 cylcinder engine The engine will be from the serries of Revotorq     Petrol engine generates an 86 PS power and the diesel generates a power of 90 PS     The vehicle is available in 5 variants and also in 5 colors The colors are Gold, Silver, White, Grey and Red     Now lets see the price range for Tata Altroz   We expect a higher price for this premium segment vehicle, but petrol variant starts from 5.50 Lakhs     Diesel variants starts from 6.50 lakhs and top end models ranging 9.50 lakh Another specialty for this vehicle is that high end models can be customized from the production plant itself like Rolls Royce or other premium cars  the mirror colors can be coated with body color, alloys can be changed ..like wise..  Coming to this segment Altroz is a rto Maruti Baleno, Hyundai Elite i20 with unmatched features...   This one of the best cars in premium hatchback segment   Now lets drive this vehicle to understand the power and riding comfort   We are going into the test drive of this vehicle... the ignition is a switch - start/stop button when the vehicle is switched on, the cluster and touch screen gets on the engine noise is low in the cabin, but with a sweet grinding sounds of the engine...    the cabin noise is low as compared with a normal car Now lets drive.....   This petrol vehicle delivers an 86 PS power In first impression, its mandatory to let you know about the steering.. The steering is too light and has great controls..

The shifting of the gears are soo smooth....   Now lets throttle this machine... The engine delivers good power and is quick responsive to accelerations , The suspensions are smooth and finely tuned.. best for a long drive..   Driving seats are very comfortable.... Now lets see the reverse assist options of this car when the reverse gear is engaged the camera at the tail gate gets switched on and the display  in the dashboard shows the back side view of the vehcile   There are guide lines to assist while on reverse move TATA Altroz has almost all the best in class features in this segment..
